Hosted by Ty Burhoe, this mini documentary series begins with Hideo-san bringing us out into the mountains of Tono, in Iwate Japan, to show us how he collects the young walnut trees he raises for his beautiful basket weaving. He then guides us through the process of creating the bark strips used to weave the baskets. We’ll get a first hand look at the process he uses to create a basket that has been a tradition in Japan for centuries and can last a lifetime.
